Michael Barry is Director of Theatre Studies at the prestigious Birmingham Conservatoire, now part of the University of Central England. He joined the Conservatiore in 2000 as a Lecturer in acting and movement to post and undergraduates in the department of Vocal & Operatic Studies.

Michael is also an accomplished freelance theatre Director and Choreographer and has been used as a dramaturg on many occasions. His experience ranges from opera, to musical theatre, to comedy and high drama.

Michael continues his own studies which began at the University of Dijon into Renaissance and Baroque movement.
